Show I i'HIS WEEK IN i MINERSVILLE By MARYBELLE EYRE Visitors at the home o'f Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Roberts during the week were Phil Roberts and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Roberts of Colorado, and Mr. and Mrs. Spence Roberts of Cedar City. Mr. Roberts, who is employed in Salt Lake, was able to be home while his family was here. j 9 A housewarming was held ; Thursday night for Mrs. Albert i Potter at her new home, recent-' recent-' ly purchased from Marie Rollins. Rol-lins. Twenty guests enjoyed the party and playing Burn the House Down. Prizes were won . by Mrs. Ethel Mathews and Mrs. Jennie Marquardson.. j Punch and cookiJes were served, after which Mrs. Potter ! opened her many presents. i 9 Mr. and Mrs. Lorraine De-Mille De-Mille visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jameson, during dur-ing the week. They were en route to Yellowstone Park. O Ward conference was held here Sunday with many stake ' officers and leaders attending the different meetings. Regular Sunday School was held in the morning. Officers and teachers teach-ers meeting was held at 630, and sacrament meeting followed follow-ed with different ward leaders speaking. ' Mrs. Pauline Carter is visiting visit-ing in Cedar City with her ; children for a 'few days. While i there she celebrated her birth-! birth-! day with her family. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Goldsmith Gold-smith of Milford recently moved mov-ed into the Polly Baker home. Mrs. Elinore Marshall was taken to the Iron County Hospital Hos-pital Sunday morning where her condition was listed as serious. She is feeling better now however and will receive special treatment for some time. A large group of Minersville residents attended the Ely Races over the week end. Mrs. Alba Gillins celebrated her birthday Thursday afternoon after-noon with her old friends and family. Twenty guests were in .to visit and bring her presents ; and good wishes. Burn the ! House Down was played, and a plate lunch was served before I Mrs. Gillins opened her lovely i presents. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence I Knotts of Spanish Fork visited I Mr. and Mrs. 'Keith Hollings-! Hollings-! head over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fothernigham ae- companied them here and will now move into their new home I here. j Diane Hollingshead suffered; I scratches and bruises, but was not seriously injured, when she was thrown from a horse Saturday Sat-urday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gillespie, who recently purchased the Edwards Ed-wards house, plan to make their home in Minersville. Earl Gillins left Monday for a four-year tour of duty with I the U S Navy. He was honored at a family dinner Sunday, attended at-tended by Mr. and Mrs. Lee Gillins and Earl, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Moser of Milford., and Mrs. Albie Gillins. Mr. and Mrs. Andy Bonn are refacing their home with brick. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Myers and family are here visiting at the home o'f his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Obra Myers, prior to moving to Cedar City, where Kent will teach school. Mr. and Mrs. Tex Richardson Richard-son and family are here visiting Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Cor-bridge Cor-bridge and Mr. and Mrs. Neal Gressman. Mr. and Mrs. Newell Carter and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Davis and family were in Cedar City Saturday to help Mrs.- Pauline Carter celebrate her birthday. They met other members of the family and enjoyed a nice lunch at the Cedar City park. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Roberts of Oregon and Mrs. Carlie An- derson of Nevada are here helping care for Mr. and Mrs. Ross Marshall's children while Mrs. Marshall is confined to the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Boyter recently refaced their home with brick. Mr. and Mrs,. Wil'ford Robinson Robin-son returned Sunday from Wyoming, bringing their two grandchildren for a visit. Mrs. Merle Potter and Mrs. LaNell Potter entertained their 4-H Clubs at their respective homes Tuesday. Each member invited her mother to attend and see what the girls had accomplished ac-complished during the summer. A nice program was presented in each club and refreshments were served. 1 |
