Show BEAVER LIONS OKEH $1,000 FOR TV POWER LINE Tlie Beaver TV Committee this week approved construction of six miles of power line to the antenna site on TV Hill north of Beaver, and construction is expected to begin early next week. Telluride Power Co. will construct the line, at a cost of approximately ....6,000. First contribution toward construction con-struction cost came Tuesday"""- when the Beaver Lions Club approved a $1,000 donation to the fund. A committee headed by Arlo Messinger will make a house to house canvass in Beaver Beav-er seeking $10 contributions 'from each television set owner. Authorization of the power line, contemplated for several months, was held up during July and August, considered "poor" months for television reception, in order to prove to niejnbers of the TV committee and the general public that the signal received at the antenna site was sufficiently strong to assure satisfactory year-round reception . It is anticipated by committee members that Cedar City interests, inter-ests, who receive a relay from Beaver's antenna site, will participate par-ticipate in costs of constructing the power line. |
