MILFORD RACES ARE LABOR DAY ATTRACTION Eight well matched horse races and dozens of between race entertainment features are on tap 'for Labor Day celebrants who attend Milford's annual Lions Club Labor Day Race Meet next Monday afternoon. A special foature will be a match race between an automobile auto-mobile and a quarter horse. Horses will be entered from Milford, South Milford, Minersville, Miners-ville, Beaver, Parowan, Cedar City and Panguitch, with all horse owners scheduled to meet at 10 a. m. Sunday in the basement base-ment of the Milford Library to enter their horses and make up the races. Heading the list of special entertainment will be "The Sentimentalists," three lovely ladies from Delta who have earned wide recognition for their harmonizing. The Sentimentalists are Bonnie Bon-nie Robinson, manager of the group; Dawn Sorenson, and the 1957 Ute Stampede queen, Janice Jan-ice Weston. They will appear frequently frequent-ly between races during the afternoon, and will be featured fea-tured vocalists at the Jaycee Dance in the evening. The annual Jaycee Labor Day Dance will be staged in St. Bridget's Recreation Hall, from 9 till 1, and Jake Schow's popular popu-lar orchestra will play for dancing. danc-ing. Other events scheduled lor the day include a Pony League championship playoff baseball game at 10 a. m., with the winners win-ners to receive a handsome trophy tro-phy from State Representative Jack Mahoney; and a 'specially matched five-horse race with women jockeys. In addition to the appearance of The Sentimentalists from Delta, between race entertainment entertain-ment will feature the Baker trained dog and animal act from Beaver, a change saddle horse race, exhibitions by the Beaver Riding Club, and local musical talent.
