Show Former Milford Railroader Retires R. B. Colborn of Cedar City, former Milford resident, made his last run as Union Pacific engineer on August 13. He piloted pi-loted train No. 310 from Cedar City to Milford on August 12th, where a group of friends waited to congratulate him. His return re-turn trip to Cedar City, Aug. 13, completed a 35-year rail-j rail-j road career. i Making the final trip with 1 Mr. Colborn were his wife and two of his children and their iamilies, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Colborn Jr. of Dragerton, Utah, and Mr. and Mrs. Tine Bingham of Los Angeles. Because of illness their other three daughters daugh-ters could not be present. Forty relatives and 'friends attended at-tended a banquet in Mr. Col-born's Col-born's honor Aug. 13th in St. Bridget's Recreation Hall. Representing Rep-resenting the Union Pacific were J. J. Schnackenberg, road foreman of engines, and William Davis, Milford trainmaster, both of whom made addresses on the interesting program. Mrs. Wanda Wan-da Holm was toastmaster. Howard Lund, president of Milford Division 681, B of L E, presented Mr. Colborn a piece of luggage on behalf of the lodge, and Mrs. Lund, president of the G I A, tendered a gift to Mrs. Colborn from the ladies. Out of town guests, in addition addi-tion to Mr. Colborn's children, were Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Stephenson Steph-enson of Cedar City. |
