Show INDUSTRIAL SAFETY SOCIETY WERE GUESTS OF KENNECOTT Members of the Utah Industrial Indus-trial Safety Society were guests of the Utah Copper Division of Kennecott Copper Corporation, at the Bingham Canyon mine Thursday, June 28. About 60 members of the Society So-ciety were' treated to a tour of the world's largest open pit copper mine, after which they attended a mine supervisors' safety meeting. Eugene Peterson, head of the mine training section, sec-tion, spoke to the group on Utah Copper's program of orienting a new employee to the job, according accord-ing to chairman E. K. Olson, safety director, Utah Copper Division. Members attending represented represent-ed some twenty Utah industries, including Mountain Fuel Supply, Utoco, Geneva Steel, Ideal Cement, Ce-ment, Morton Salt, Western Paper Pap-er and American Foundry and Machine Company. Also attending were safety personnel from Hill Air Force Base and representatives from the Utah Industrial Commission and Salt Lake Safety Council. |
