Steve Papzaharis will take over the duty of station manager while Dave Sterling will be program director. Joe Cha will be news director and Randy Harper will remain Music Director. The positions come with a tuition waiver. - People vacating offices are Bill Gibson and Elaine Smith. Station manager Bill Gibson said "This has been a great year. We accomplished a lot." Evans from the School of Social Science said that the benefits would overshadow the technical problems. He said that he has heard of this program in other colleges and personally was in favor of it. The "other" colleges Evans spoke of are the University of Arizona, Brigham Young University, Colorado State University, University of Idaho, Northern Arizona University and Utah State University. The proposed SILEX program," according to the proposal, was patterned after the Brigham Young University and Utah State University programs. Dean Robert S. Cowgill of Technology reitereated that his group could see some technical problems concerning SILEX, but did not raise any issues. But, because of the positive feeling emanated from the banquet, Young said that he and Mark Stuart, representative for the School of Education, are going to re-write parts of the proposal for further presentation. Credit may be earned through a combination of theory and theory application through actual experience. Credit hours will be decided by the instructor for SILEX credit, The criteria being; A. Credit hours may vary between one and three hours per project. 4. A final report on summary paper of at least two or three pages on all special projects and practicum experiences will be checked by the directors and then field for future use by students interested in that particular area. The proposal stated that course cards would be handled by the instructor in charge of the course and that they would also be handled on an individual basis.
