Show Page 11 Sofiball Team finishes season with 4th place V - The Weber State Women's Softball Team participated in the Intermountain Conference Regional Playoffs last week and took fourth place to complete its 1976 season. The Wildcat Nine played four games in the playoffs and won two of them. In the first, WSC lost to Arizona University 6-4, but to defeat New their second bounced back Mexico 8 4 in Thursday game. On Friday, Weber played its final two contests. Northern Colorado beat Weber 5-2 to make the final round and Weber whipped Wyoming 13-5 to nail down 4th. I h h mlmm Two Wober runners place in Golden Spike marathon Real lip biter: Doalee Cox shows tension of WSC's Softball tournament bid. photo by Clyde Mullor Two Weber State Cross Country Runners, Lynn Arave and Mitch Oki, were the first two finishers from the state of Utah to complete the 2nd annual Golden Spike Marathon Race held Saturday in Brigham City. The 26 mile-385 yard long race covered a historic route beginning at the Golden Spike Monument West of Corrine and ending in downtown Brigham City. 63 runners started the race and 41 finished. Arave placed 5th overall and 2nd in his age division with a clocking of 2:52.12, while Oki took 6th overall and 3rd in his age troup with a two hour 55 minutes and 35 second time. The pair had chosen not to run track for WSC this spring. Rick Lower, a former Colorado University distance runner won the race with a new course record clocking of 2:41.30.
