Show D 1 1 EmQso'ttSDirErircsinifl WSC Activities On April 15 the WSC Chorale is sponsoring a car wash to help raise money for their upcoming European tour. Price will be $1 for the outside and $1 for the inside. It will be held in the Institute parking lot at 9 a.m. At noon on May 13 there will be a special convocation for the handicapped in the FAC. WSC Political Science Philosophy Department presents a special convocation with Don Sorensen, Professor of Political Science at BYU speaking on "Public Ethics." It will be on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Union Building Theatre free to the public. Art The second Floor Gallery of the Salt Lake Public Library, 209 E. 5th S. SLC, has on display through May 15 Children's Japanese Art. "Indian Basket Designs of the Greater Southwest" is on display at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. This display will continue through May 30. In the WSC Art Department Gallery through May 14 the work of Professor of Art at WSC, Charles Groberg, will be on exhibit. From May 15 through May 29 three art majors Gilbert Rodriquez, Diane Sheldon, and Jerry Pacheco will have original paintings, photos, prints and sculpture on exhibit in the Union Building. Concerts Neil Sedaka will be in concert at the Salt Palace in SLC on May 21 at 8 p.m. The tickets are available at all ZCMI stores for $4.50, $5.50 and $6.50. Cecilio & Kapono will, be in concert on Wednesday night in the FAC auditorium for the annual free spring concert. It will begin at 8 p.m. Students must have a validated I.D. Others interested in coming will be charged $3. Also Wednesday night the Voce Coeds will have their spring concert. It will be at 8 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Little Theatre. Thursday at 8 p.m. in the FAC the Davis High School Symphonic Band will perform. They recently represented the state of Utah in the Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington, D.C. It is free to the public. On Friday and Saturday the Weber State Singers will hold their annual spring concert. It will be held at 8 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Appearing at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake on May 15 will be C.W. McCall. Tickets are $4.50, $5.50 and $6.50. They are available at all Z.C.M.I. stores and the Salt Palace. Theatre The Union movie for May 14 and 15 is "Lost Horizons." It will show at7and 9:30p.m. and cost $1 for students and $1.50 without. The WSC Theatre department will stage 2 musical one act plays through March 8 in the FAC Auditorium. The two plays are "Down in the Valley" and "Trouble in Tahiti." Show time is 8p.m. The Union Theatre for May 21 and 22 will be Up-Town Saturday. It will be shown at 7 and 9:30 p.m. and costs $1 for students and $1.50 for others. Outing Center On Wednesday, May 12 at 1 p.m. there will be a slide presentation by Dr. Don Murphy from the Geology Dept. It will be held in the Outing Center. The slides will be about the Canyonlands. On Saturday May 15 at 9 a.m. there will be an outing to Waterfall Canyon. The sign-up deadline is May 13. Sign up at the Outing Center. Backpacing Fundamentals will be the subject of a seminar given by Rich Rozic and Lyle Scrimger on May 19 at 1 p.m. in the outing center. Career Placement There is an opportunity for a 2 year business student to enter into a management position with an Eastern Utah company. Representatives from Allied Chemical out of Green River Wyoming will be on campus Wednesday, May 12, interviewing 2-year graduates in the fields of Diesel, Machine Shop, and Industrial training for job positions. Entries open for intramural golf, tennis and cycling Entries are still open for the intramural department's co-recreational tennis competition. Play will begin on May 17th. Also, golf and l'risbee entries are being taken for the competition at the intramural's annual bar-beque on Thursday May 20th at Round Valley near Morgan. The men's intramural bike race and the women's bike ralley will take place on Tuesday May 18th.
