Show FELL AMONG LIVE WIRES. A Kansas City Fireman Meets a Horrible Death. Kansas City, Mo., May 12. While working at the fire which destroyed the Ne7vby Transfer and Storage company's com-pany's building James F. McNeills, a fireman, foreman of No. 4 truck company, com-pany, was killed. After the falling of a rear wall, McNellis and five other firemen went in upon the debris with a line of hose. The foreman came in contact with a live electric wire that had been carried down from the roof of the building and was killed. The hanging wire struck McNeills on the forehead and the shock caused him to plunge forward into a network of live wires, where his company mates saw him die. Two of the firemen were severely se-verely shocked in their efforts to recover re-cover the body. McNellis's face was terribly burned where the flesh had been in contact with the wires. |
