Show Athena Club Meets At the Home of Mrs. Donald Schmutz Saturday Mrs. Donald Schmutz was hostess last Saturday evening at her home to the members of the Athena club for their regular program. Assisting were Mrs. William Brooks and Mrs. A. K. Hafen. Guests included Mrs. Fred Gould, Mrs.- Verna Schmutz, Mabel Jarvis, and Mrs. Schmutz's sister, Mrs. Pearl Eaton, who is wintering winter-ing in St. George. Highlighting the evening's program pro-gram was an address by Pres. Glenn E. Snow of the Dixie junior college, who reported from several angles his observations on the recent re-cent educational conference of heads of institutions in Balitmore the first week of January. Important in the present outlook out-look is the fact that the needs and demands of the present emergency emerg-ency are to be met with intelligence intelli-gence and not haphazardly. He provided voluble evidence that phase of human capacity of the entire populace will be rapidly brought into use and emphasized the wholehearted manner in which the entire nation is responding both with materials and labor. He urged the conservation of all materials, locally, that will add to the national needs of conservation conser-vation withouth hysteria of food, clothes, and other essentials, and a liberal understanding of the financial demands and the big way in which the citizens must meet them. Visualizing the specific needs for skilled minds in many of the important fields of research and experimentation, he gave several indications of how these needs will be met.
