Show Tickets For Father-Son Banquet To Be Held February 12 Now On Sale Tickets are now on sale for the Father-Son banquet to be held in the college gymnasium on Thursday, February 12. They may be obtained by checking with the Scout officials of each troop. Although Al-though the cost of the banquet has been advanced materially, the price of admission to the social has not been changed. The committee in charge is desirous de-sirous that mistakes of the past be elminated this year and asks the full cooperation of the public to make this possible. Past Difficulties The biggest difficulty of the past has been to have more people come than there were plates prepared. pre-pared. This has meant a reduced portion of food in order that all might be served. To avoid this problem, reservations must be made in advance this year. This request is made through public demand. Up to Monday, Feb. 9th, tickets will be on sale in the various wards. It is therefore esssential that all tickets be bought in advance. The Father-Son banquet is an annual affair in Dixie, in which tie Scouting .organization, the buys' club at the college, the local F. F.A. chapter, the Rotary club, the Lions club, the Firemen, the American Legion and other community com-munity agencies cooperate. It is a big get-together of the boys of this section with their fathers. Commltttees Named Committees named at the recent re-cent meeting include: W. W. Mc-Arthur Mc-Arthur and Glenn E. Snow, general gen-eral chairmen; W. C. Cox, banquet; ban-quet; Donald Schmutz and V. J. Frei, ticket sale and publicity; B. Glen Smith, program; Leo G. Smith, physical arrangements; and Arthur Cottam and George T. Thompson, decoration. Other committees com-mittees will be organized later to care for details. The banquet is a part of Boy Scout Week, Feb. 8-14. Another feature of the week will be the annual Court of Honor in the stake Tabernacle on Sunday night, Feb. 8th, with W. C. Cox. The annual Scout circus will not be held this year; a similar event, on a larger scale, is planned for April. |
