Show A Elementary Students Buy Savings Stamps The students of the St. George Elementary school are very conscious con-scious of the importance of buying buy-ing Savings Stamps and Bonds. The past few weeks the teachers have attempted to stress the importance im-portance of saving money and buying Stamps and Bonds. According to Principal Vernon Worthen, in a checkup made Tuesday morning, it was found that $451.75 worth of Bonds and Stamps were owned by the boys and girls of the St. George Elementary Ele-mentary school. Each class has the amount as follows: Mr. Cannon's, Can-non's, $62.25; Mr. Neilson's, $23.95; Miss Seegmiller's, $69.45; Mr. Stucki's, $67.40; Mr. Graff's, $49.05; Miss Foremaster's, $56.25; Miss Pace's, $21.30; Miss Larson's, $26.60; Mrs. Bradford's, $8.90; Mrs. Pitchforth's, $9.45; Miss Im-lay's, Im-lay's, $22.20; Miss Sterling's, $16.20 and Miss Lemon's $18.75. "The teachers will continue to encourage the students to be careful care-ful in spending their money and we hope all parents appreciate what is being done," says Mr. Worthen. In student council on Tuesday morning one little girl n the fourth grade suggested that the boys and girls spend their money this year for Thrift Stamps instead in-stead of buying valentines and that if valentines are sent, they be made by the boys and. girls. Additional news is that the strides and slide are being repaired re-paired as they were getting dangerous dang-erous to play on. And the fourth grades are busy getting a program pro-gram ready to present to the rest of the school. The program is entitled, "The Magic Gingerbread". |
