Show Funeral Services Held At Beayer Monday For Mrs. Elizabeth Law Funeral services were held al 2 p. m., Monday, Jan. 20, in the Beaver L. D. S. West ward chapel for Mrs. Elizabeth (Bessie) Empey Law, 57, who died at her home Saturday, Jan. 18, following a stroke suffered two weeks earlier. Mrs. Law was born in St. George Dec. 27, 1884, a daughter of Joseph and Ovilla Liston Empey. Em-pey. She was educated in St. George and married Gibson Law of Beaver in 1912. Mr. Law died in July 1916. Active for many years as a Relief Re-lief Society teacher in the Beaver West ward, and as a member of the Belknap camp of the Daughters Daugh-ters of Utah Pioneers, . and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of that place, Mrs. Law has provided a living for herself and her two daughters, Jane and Dixie Law, who survive. She also spent much time during recent years at Temple work in St. George. Surviving besides her daughters are three brothers, William Empey Em-pey and Nelson Empey of St. George; Clifford L. St. George relatives and friends who attended the Monday afternoon after-noon funeral services in Beaver for Mrs. Bessie Empey Law, included in-cluded Mr. and Mrs. William Empey Em-pey and son, Jerry; Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Empey and daughters, Evelyn Ev-elyn and Shirley; Mrs. Mattie Empey, her son, Clark and wife, and daughters, Mrs. Helen Wiseman Wise-man and Miss Ella Empey, and son-in-law, Carl Hutchings, and Mrs. Charles Andrus and daughter. daugh-ter. Mrs. Mack Jackson. They were met in Beaver by Mrs. Law's brother, Clifford and wife, and two daughters, Alice and Betsy of Salt Lake City, and Dr. and Mrs. LaVem Dally, and sons, Joy and Jay, of Richfield. All report a very impressive funeral fun-eral service, with high tribute paid to Mrs. Law for her community com-munity and religious activities. |
