Show Washington, Kane And Iron County 4-H'ers Meet On Cedar Mountain Duck Creek on Cedar mountain was the scene of the annual 4-H club outing for Washington, Kane, and Iron counties held July 9, 10 and 11. Over 500 4-H club members and leaders were in attendance; at-tendance; of this group 225, representing rep-resenting 24 clubs, were from Washington county. Visitors from the State Extension Service were present. The three days at camp were well filled with activities in which most of the clubs present participated. parti-cipated. Monday, July 9, was spent in registration and setting-up setting-up of camps. During the evening a campfire program was held with W. W. Owens, director of the State Extension Service in attendance. at-tendance. Tuesdays activities included the flag-raising ceremony and election of camp officers and committees; nature study hike and identification identifica-tion contest; girls' handicraft; soft ball game and other sports: log sawing contest; and campfire program. Wednesday's activities were flag-raising ecermony, shellacking shell-acking of handicraft pins; judging contest; and program and contest winner announcements; awarding of prizes. First-place winners of the various vari-ous contests were: log sawing contest, (girls') Karlene Nelson and ' Josephine Goodwin of St. George, (boys') Myron Abbott and Jim Anderson, Paragonah.
