Wilford Canfield Receives Wounds In Pacific Operations Coxswain Wilford Canfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Canfield, is in an overseas hospital as a result re-sult of injuries received in the Pacific area. A letter from Coxswain Can-field, Can-field, written by a buddy July 4, reached his parents Wednesday, but gave no details. He said he would call them personally on the phone when he reaches the U. S. He "was all right when he and his cousin visited on June 30. He has been serving aboard a mine sweeper sweep-er and has been overseas for 17 months. A War Department telegram this (Thursday) morning, said Coxswain Canfield had been wounded in action, but conditions were favorable and other information infor-mation will follow. |
