He entered the Navy in June and trained first at San j Diego. At the conclusion of his j "boot" training he was assigned j to the medial division and is now I stationed at Oakland, Calif. I fta fu Pa Now A Staff Sergeant j Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Theobald have received word that their brother, Evan Theobald, has recently re-cently been made a Staff Sergeant ; and placed in charge of 80 tanks. He had anticipated being sent j across by this time but his present pres-ent situation is that he is now j back in the same troop and lo- cated in the same barracks where he began his training when he en-, en-, listed 22 months ago. j R B5 R Toquerville Boys in Pacific Area With the location of Morgan Bringhurst in the central Pacific area, Toquerville reports six of her boys stationed in this area. Morgan is- a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bringhurst. The other five boys in the central cen-tral Pacific are: Ivan Bringhurst, Clark Olds, Merrill Olds and Mac Johnson, who have been there since shortly after Pearl Harbor; and Virgil Wallace who arrived recently, f Pa h S Major Moss Visit Here Major Clarence M. Moss arrived Sunday from his military post in Tennessee for s ten-day furlough, fur-lough, coming by plane as far as Salt Lake City. Mrs. Moss and children have been home for three weeks and will remain in Santa Clara for the duration; the Major returning to Tennessee next Monday. Mon-day. His arrival was a surprise to his family and to his mother, Mrs. Jane M. Moss of this- city, but was a very acceptable surprise, said Mrs. Moss. IS ft Instructs In Swimming Cadet Roger (Rod) Pickett's Interest In-terest and training irv swimming and life saving under the local Red Cross program last summer is giving him an advantage at his present training station in Missoula, Mis-soula, Mont., where he is now an instructor in swimming- for the cadets, at the University of Montana. Roger was always a trifle thin for his height but the Army diet and routine is having its way with him, according to reports. Already he has added' 2ff pounds and he has only been in the Army air corps about four months, being be-ing located first at Buckley Field, near Denver, before being: transferred trans-ferred to Montana. la 1st h M. Jackson Visits Here-Martin Here-Martin C. Jackson son of Mrs. Fern Jackson, is home' on a 15-day 15-day furlough, arriving last Friday morning. Since his arrival he has been visiting relatives in the various vari-ous towns of this section. Martin is located at Phoenix, Ariz., and has been guarding the Japanese prisoners interned there. |
