Show South Ward Primary Group Place Work on Display Sunday-Monday Work of the children of the South Ward primary was placed on exhibit in the recreation hall of the chapel over Sunday and Monday. The display includes a large number of hand made dolls in pioneer costume, braided rugs, a variety of hot pot holders, crochet cro-chet pieces, pieced quilts, health and other posters covering the year-round primary program, and other hand craft in the girls department. de-partment. The work of the boys classes includes in-cludes furniture made with spools and heavy paper by the tiny tots, miniature log cabins, mud houses and dugouts, and a large number of tiny covered wagons, some complete com-plete with their ox teams, white covers, barrels tied on the side, and one or two outfits with their tiny men and women inside on the spring seats. On a large sand table is shown the layout of a pioneer town with the homes, covered wagons, trees, gardens, cattle, tools, people, wigwams wig-wams and Indians. At one end of this table is a miniature f the St. George Temple with practically every detail taken care of. This display is typical of the work being done in all of the ward primaries, the two purposes being to teach the children the facts of pioneering from every angle and to teach them to use their hands skillfully, explain their teachers. |
