Show Lions Hold Installation Party At Thomas Home The installation of the 1941-42 officers for the St. George Lions club took place last Thursday evening eve-ning on the lawn of the H. C. Thomas home, with 75 Lions, Leonas and their guests attending. attend-ing. The affair was also set to honor the outgoing officers of the organization. Officers installed included Dr. A. W. McGregor, president, Rodney Rod-ney A. Ashby, Tom Young and Lee Weibel as first, second and third vice presidents, respectively; J. J. Phoenix Jr., secretary-treasurer; Ezra McArthur, tail twister; Lee C. Owens, lion tamer, and as directors, Charles Allen, Howard Judd and Ed C. Miles. The installation in-stallation ceremonies were conducted con-ducted by the immediate past president, Wesley A. Nelson. Following the ceremonies dinner din-ner was served buffet style, with the guests seated at small tables. A patriotic theme was used in the decorations, with flag lapel pins, paper caps and noise makers mak-ers as favors. The remainder of the program was devoted to music with Mrs. Lorraine Cox, Mrs. Athe Meeks, Mrs. Jack Ricketts and Marion Bowler presenting vocal and instrumental in-strumental numbers. Lady Lions in charge - of the evening's entertainment included, Mrs. John J. Phoenix Ji., general chairman, assisted by Mrs. M. O. Hutchings, program chairman; Mrs. Reid Leigh and Mrs. Phil Spencer, refreshments; Mrs. Wesley Wes-ley A. Nelson and Mrs. Ed Miles, decorations. |
