Show Final Rites Observed for Accident Yictim at Rockville on Thursday Rockville, Utah. Funeral services serv-ices for Garth Jones, 27, killed accidently Sept. 15 in Las Vegas, were held in the Rockville ward hall at 4 p: m.. Thursday Sept. 20 with counselor Marvin Terry of the bishopric conducting. Musical numbers were a vocal duet, "Sometime, Somewhere" by Marie Broderick and Arvena De-Mille, De-Mille, accompanied by Leora Wil-cock; Wil-cock; quartet, "Sometime We'll Understand," Kendal Gifford, Lar-kin Lar-kin Gifford Von Hoyt and Sterling Sterl-ing Seegmiller, of Springdalfe, Mrs. Hoyt accompaning; solo, "Oh Love of God," Ivan J. Barrett of Hurricane, accompanied by Mrs. Hoyt. Speakers were Mrs. Alice H. Ballard, Pres. Elmer Graff of Hurricane Hur-ricane and Bp. Ira Guy DeMille. All three praised Mr. Jones for his ability, capacity to make friends and his love of " clean sports. Prayers were by D. Walden Ballard, Bal-lard, and Bp. Alvin Hardy. The grave in the cemetery was dedicated dedi-cated by Afton Ballard. Garth Jones was born June 18, 1918 in Rockville, completing grade school work here and later attended attend-ed high school in Hurricane. For the past few years he has been employed ate Defense work in California. He was married Jan. 9, 1945 to Barbara Stubbs of Los Angeles. They moved to Las Vegas a month ago where he secured employment em-ployment in a garage. He accidently acci-dently shot himself ' Saturday evening, Sept. 15, while cleaning a gun. Surviving besides his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Philetus Jones of Rockville; his wife, Barbara Stubbs Jones of Las Vegas, a son, Eddie Jones, by a former marriage; two brothers, Alvin Jones of Kanab and Gordon Jones of Berkeley, Calif.; seven sisters, Mrs. Madge Crawford, Ogden; Mrs. Ada Worthen and Mrs. Winnie Van Wagner, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Minnie Mahan, Moab; Mrs. Fern Cannon St. George; Mrs. Nellie Fagergren, Zion National Park. , |
