Show Report Issued on County By Public Welfare Director Public assistance payments totaling $18,713 for August, 1945, was authorizied by the Washington Washing-ton County Board of Public Welfare, Wel-fare, K. D. Williams, County Director, Dir-ector, reported Monday. These payments benefited 314 individuals individ-uals and families in the county. August payments represent a decrease of $481 from July, and the number of cases decreased five. Of the total, Mr. Williams said, $11,132, or 66.6 percent was paid to 283 cases under the old-age assistance program; $4415 of 28.4 percent was issued 84 families with dependent children; $162 or 0.9 percent was for aid to five blind cases; $796 of 4.7 percent was paid to 22 cases classified as unemployable; $40 or 0.2 percent for one employable case $50 or 0.8 percent was for two adults in institutions; $10 or 0.1 percent for one transient case; and $1.08 or 0.8 percent for eye care for two individuals under the sight con-version con-version program. |
