Show FOOTBALL SQUAD TO RECEIVE TEST A practice game between the college football team and one picked from the high school squad and local players will be played Friday, October 2, at 3:00. at the new football field two blocks west of the college. The public will be admitted free. A squad of 23 high school I players have been turning out for practice each morning from j 7:00 to 9:00 o'clock. The back-field back-field will be composed of Grant Brooks, quarterback; Justin Tol-ton Tol-ton and Edward Morgan halfbacks, half-backs, Gail Heaton fullback with Sherly Prisbrey, Ted Seaman, Adrian Bunting, Eldon McArthur. and Dick Morris as reserves. McArthur Mc-Arthur is out at the present with a sprained ankle. For the line positions the following have been trying out: Lyman Earl and Evan Pickett at center; Keith Heaton, Merril Kunz, Bill Bundy and Ellis Carter at guard; Alva Snow, Lester Riding, Rid-ing, Gene Bringhurst and Victor Vic-tor Cannon at tackle; and Don Snow, Edward Woodbury, Bob Riding and Jack Ostenson at end. The high school squad will play four games this season: October 8 Overton at Overton. October 15 Panaca at Panaca.. October 23 Overton at Dixie. October 28 Panaca at Dixie. These .two home games and three for the college squad will be available to the public on a season ticket. The public is invited to attend the high school practice sessions ses-sions at 7:00 o'clock in the morning morn-ing and the college workouts at 4:30 o'clock at the new football foot-ball field. |
