Show Church Leaders Pleased With Progress On Church Security Building Encouragement is expressed this week by Stake President Harold S. Snow as he, with other citizens, notes the near completion of the stake welfare center on second south and third east streets corner. cor-ner. The past few weeks the work has been pushed forward and the end of May will see the shingling of the roof completed and most of the windows and doors hung. Varying the original plan in some respects, the building as it is now being completed will have a full 60x30 foot basement floor for storage purposes only; the main floor will house the canning sewing and food preservation rooms, and the upper floor, lighted light-ed by two large roof dormer windows win-dows at both north and south will afford pleasant winter work shops for shoe repairing, craft work, furniture repairing and other such activities which men may give time to, when they are unable to carry on their farming and other projects. Appreciation is expressed by President Snow and the building committee for the cooperation given by the entire stake in the construction of this project. It is fully realized that much is being continually required of church members in providing buildings and contributing to various projects, pro-jects, but viewed in comparison with the Tabernacle and Temple building of early days, people are encouraged to feel their tasks are not as great as were those of pioneers. The welfare center will be fully completed in time for the July peach and vegetable canning. All priesthood groups are especially giving cooperation, and many scouts have done their bit towards the erection of this building, states President Snow. |
