Show Rockville Mrs. Philetus Jones Reporter Mr. and Mrs. George W. Worthen of St. George spent the past week visiting with their daughter, Mrs. Afton Ballard and family. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Mahan entertained 14 of their friends Saturday evening. Pinochle was played, honors going to Mrs. Arch Ballard and Grant Langston. Alton Jones is confined to his home with the flu. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Terry gave 8 party at their home last Saturday Satur-day evening. Sylvan Graff and son of Santa Clara visited over last week end with his sister, Mrs. Grant Langs-ton. Langs-ton. Lorin Hirschi , and daughter of Cedar City were visitors at the home of Daniel Hirschi last Sunday Sun-day afternoon. Mrs. Irving Dalton entertained a group of children Saturday afternoon the occasion being her son, Clare's sixth birthday anniversary. anni-versary. Mrs. Walter Beatty and daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Helene McAllister, and Mrs. McAllister of Kanab were guests of Mrs. Newell DeMill on Thursday. Mrs. Alice Harmon of St. George is a guest this week at the home of Bp. and Mrs. Waldon Ballard. Ameldia Cox entertained a number num-ber of her little friends at her birthday anniversary party last Thursday. Leo K. Homer and Mrs. Walker, stake Sunday school board members mem-bers from Hurricane visited at Rockville Sunday school Sunday. Stake missionaries attending the sacrament meeting were Mrs. Walter Brooks and Wilford Leany of Hurricane. Patriarch George W. Worthen of St. George was also a speaker at these sen-ices. Mr. and Mrs. Afton Ballard invited a group of the older people of Rockville to their home Sunday evening to visit with their parents. Mr. and Mrs. George W. Worthen. and their aunt. Mrs. Alice W. Harmon of St. George. A call from the ward bishopric last Saturday brought a large group of men and boys to the cemetery where the day was spent cleaning and repairing the yards and premises. "Here's hoping hop-ing this good work will continue un'il our burial ground can bo made into a place to be proud of", is the suggestion. Ira and Byron Millet t of Salt Lake City were transacting business busi-ness in Rockville last week. |
