Show St. George C. cf C. j Holds Annual-Election Annual-Election Wednesday Year's Activities Told By Secretary And Road Problems Discussed The election of officers for the coming year, the hearing of the secretary's report and a discussion of the Enterprise road project were the main problems brought before the St. George Chamber of Commerce at its annual meeting meet-ing held in the Arrowhead hotel today. Pres. L. J. Wadsworth was in charge of the meeting with Laron S. Andrus, secretary, presenting pre-senting the annual report. The report of the work accomplished accom-plished and projects undertaken was primarily as that presented by Secretary Andrus through the News last week. His report was accepted by the membership. Those elected for the coming year are as follows: K. D. Williams, Wil-liams, Legion representative; Maurice J. Miles, school representative; repre-sentative; Joseph Atkin, city representative; rep-resentative; Laron S. Andrus, Chamber of Commerce representative representa-tive and LeRoy H. Cox, Washington Washing-ton Field Canal Co. representative. Hold over officers includes Howard How-ard Cannon, Lions club; N. R. Frei, Rotary club; Harold Miles, Business Peoples' organization and Lawrence Wadsworth, president. This group will meet in the near future and will select their president presi-dent and secretary. A perusal of the many projects (Continued on page eight) C. of C. Election (Continued from first page) undertaken and the results obtained, ob-tained, as presented to the members mem-bers present, indicated the amount of work that had been undertaken by the chamber of commerce during dur-ing the past year. Those who have followed the directors work during dur-ing the past year feel that it was one of the most productive ever recorded by the organization. While the group fought a losing fight in regard to the Soil Conservation Con-servation office removal, the removal re-moval of the St. George CCC camp and several other projects, it is the opinion of those familiar with the organization's work that everything possible was done to keep these units here. This group has been particularly active in the fight for the Enterprise and Snow Canyon roads. |
