Show Dixie High Continues Winning Streak; College Drops Two More The Dixie high school basketball squad kept pace with Hurricane in holding the league leadership last week end .while the college team dropped deeper into the cellar by losing two hard-fought battles to the B.A.C. B.A.C. defeated Dixie Friday, 38-33, and repeated Saturday, by the score of 41-25. The first game was anybody's game until the final whistle, a typical B.A.C.-Dixie encounter. In the second tussle Dixie played better ball than during the first evening, but could not make the necessary counters. On' the other hand, the B.A.C. boys were hot, scoring from the corners and making mak-ing long shots over the defense. The high school boys played (Continued on page four) Dixie Winning Streak (Continued from first page) their' usual good game in winning from Kanab at the latter place Friday night by a score of 30-lb. The first team played for three quarters, leaving the floor with the score 24-8. The Kanab boys slightly outplayed the second String. All of the Dixie men played goodball offensively, rustling the ball, or defensively. In other week end games. Hurricane Hur-ricane defeated Orderville, 49-31; Cedar City walked away from Enterprise 28-17, and Parowan won from Cedar City. 27-20. Snow won two non-conference games from Westminster, and Carbon lost two to the strong Mesa team in league- encounters. Ricks outclassed Albion in the far North. In the high school league Dixie goes to Enterprise Friday. Hurricane Hurri-cane will ikely have her leadership tested the same night when she goes to Parowan. |
