Show Box Rent Raise Announced At Post Office Announcement is made by Postmaster Post-master William Brooks that he has been instructed to raise the price charge for boxes at the local postoffice beginning July 1. In making the change in price Mr. Brooks explains that it will be to bring the local prices in line with those charged throughout the nation in a postoffice whose receipts re-ceipts are over $10,000. "It is true", states Mr. Brooks, "that our postal receipts have been well over the $10,000 mark for a number of years, but the department has permitted us to continue on the basis of the old rates until this time. It is also necessary to raise the rates to place this city in line to receive city delivery service. "All of the boxes in the post-office post-office are rented at the present time and we hope that all of the patrons will continue the use of the boxes. Your box rent due notice will be placed in your boxes in the near future. Those interested in-terested in knowing how much their' box rent will be may read the rates as posted at the post-office." |
