The candle, lighting ceremony cere-mony was the lirst thing on the( program followed by songs from I the school children; reading, Mrs. Addle Naegle; tulk, president L. 11. Bringhurst after which a delirious de-lirious lu'nrh was served and the remainder of the evening was spent playing games. Thursday afternoon the Ladies' sewing club met at the home of Mrs. Ruth Naegle. The afternoon after-noon was spent in quilting after which lunch was served to twenty-three twenty-three Mrs. Clara Weinman was assistant hostess. Friday afternoon the Sarah Willis Wil-lis chapter of the D. U. P. met at the home of Captain Lorine I. Iligbee. Lunch was served to fourteen present. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. Annie Larson, Mi's. Vera Deatty, and Mrs. Rhea W'akeling. Saturday afternoon a surprise luncheon was held for Mrs. Caroline Caro-line A. Slack, the occasion being her 7Sth birthday. The center piece was a birthday rake with national Mugs as ornaments. The red, white, and blue streamers ranie from the center of the room to each card. It being so j close to Washington's birthday j patriotic decorations were used. ; Those present were M'rs. Slack. Lorine I. Higbee, Sarah Reed. Anieia Slack. Elizann Anderson. Lama Pringhurst, Francis Johnson. John-son. Anna Naegle. and Emma N'.iegle. Hostesses were Mrs. Jennie Jen-nie Lamb. Mrs. Nora Newell. Mrs. Louise Slack. Mrs. Minnie Slack, and Mrs. Rowena Slack. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Higbee last week-end were Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Higbee. cf St George. Mrs. Clair Higbee, and daughter of Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Crosby of Kanab j and Mrs. Lillian Williams and lw children of Kanarra. j Mrs. Walter Slack. Jr.. of Hur- rirane spent Monday visiting relatives rel-atives here. i Mrs. A. P. Slack spent Sunday visiting in Kanarra j Mrs. Irving Earl and infant son came from the Cedar City hos- j pital Tuesday to stay with her j parents. Mr. and Mrs. Martin j Anderson. .
