Show MATHIS AND REID SPEAKERS AT AM. LEGION AUX. MEET . The American Legion Auxiliary held their meeting Monday evening even-ing in the music room of the elementary ele-mentary school building. Prof. H. L. Reid gave an lad-dress lad-dress on National Denfense. He referred to war as legalized murder mur-der pnrl told of the hatred of one nation for another and of the bitterness that comes into the people during the times of war. Com. Gordon Mathis of the American Legion mentioned the fact that the United States had a. large area to protect and that it was necessary to keep a large coast guard in case of any nation coming upon us without warning. The prize essay this year was won by Evelyn Kunz and was read by her. It was entitled, "The Story of the Flag." Rook was then played by the group and prizes were warded to Mrs. Herbert Milne of Cedar City and MYs. Lorna Worthen of St. G-eorge. |
