Show Hurricane Julia Wiitney Reporter Mr. and Mrs. Dell Iverson visited at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Spendlove Sunday Sun-day and Monday. The American Legion Auxiliary recently elected the following officers: of-ficers: President, Kate Allen; first vice president, Mattie Spendlove; Spend-love; second vice president, Mina Atkin, secretary and treasurer, Sarah M. Perkins; historian, Annie An-nie Bradshaw; color bearer, Vad-na Vad-na Bradshaw. Bert E. Berdoll of Spanish Fork, brother to Mrs. Evan i Langston visited her home during the week-end. ' Mrs. Virden Liston and two children are visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Mer-rill Hall. Mrs. J. L. Bowler of Gunlock visited at the home of her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Woodbury Wood-bury this week. Paul Gates had his tonsils removed re-moved Friday and is reported to be recovering nicely. Eileen Woodbury ieft Saturday for Logan where she will attend the U. S. A. C. Reed Stevens gave a talk at the Riding hotel on Saturday, Sept. 21. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hannig and three children of Las Vegas, were visitors at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Whitney. Whit-ney. Mrs. Bernice Morrill of Kingston, Kings-ton, Utah, recently visited at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Hinton. Students who left for school recently re-cently are: Harvard Hinton and Golden Lang, B. A. C; Lawrence Hinton, William Smith and Elaine Sandberg, U. S. A. C. A girls' Softball game was played between Virgin Valley high and Hurricane high. Virgin Valley Val-ley high won bothe games. Merline Stevens left Monday for Provo, where she will attend the B. Y. U. LaMeda Bliss spent the weekend week-end in Kanab with her sister, Mrs. Harry Robinson. Elna Wittwer was honored by a personal shower given by her girl friends. It was held Tuesday Tues-day evening at the home of LaMeda La-Meda Bliss. There were 20 girls present. Mr. and Mrs. James Tweedie and children of Cedar City visited at the home of her mother, Mrs. H. E. Lee. Lieut, and Mrs. Shipley of the Hurricane CCC camp spent Saturday Sat-urday sightseeing at Grand Canyon. Can-yon. Mr. and Mrs. Elton Stapley and family of Cedar City were visitors at the home of J. H. Riding over the week-end. Mrs. Owen Hall entertained a group of friends at a sewing bee on Thursday, Sept. 19. Edgar Petty, Mrs. Frank Petty, and son. Asel of Cedar City were visitors at the home of Mrs. R. J. Petty Sunday. |
