Show Nine Dixie Students Pass Physical Exams For Aeronautics Course Nine Dixie college students Saturday Sat-urday passed the physical examination exam-ination for the Civil Aeonautics Authority flying course now underway under-way at the college. The tests were given in Cedar City. One more student will be selected from tests given yesterday. The civic fund has now been raised to $3,200 and work on the hangars is well underway. The set-up here cannot be equalled anywhere else in the state, according ac-cording to Joe Bergen, who was here this week to make a detailed detail-ed examination of the project. The plane which is to be used for flying instruction has been purchased, and it will be put to use by October 1, states Maurice Miles, who has charge of the ground instruction at the college. E. L. (Andy) Anderson will have charge of flight instruction. Those who passed the physical (Continued on page eight) Aeronautics Exams (Continued from first page) examination are Ray Sorenson, Lowell Terry, Keith Hafen, Merlin Milne, Blaine Cutler, Rex Strat-ton, Strat-ton, Lester Cottam, William R. Frei and Vivian Brooksby, the latter being the lone co-ed who qualified. These and one other to be chosen will complete their course this winter. Twenty additional students will be enrolled during each of the winter and spring quarters. Individual flying licenses will be issued at the conclusion of each quarter. |
