Show LA VERKIN'S OLDEST RESIDENT DIES MON. Funeral services were held here in the ward chapel on April 2 5 for Allen Joseph F. Stout, 74, who died at his home here on April 24 j after an illness of two months. Al-I Al-I len J. F. Stout was born in Pleasant Plea-sant Grove, Utah, February 14. 1S59, a son of Allen J. Stout and Amanda M. Fisk. He was one of the early pioneers of southern Utah making his home in Rock-ville Rock-ville for a number of years. Latter Lat-ter he moved with his family to LVverkin, being one of the first families to settle here. He was a counselor in the bishopric of this ward for 17 years, was a member of the school trustees at the time the .school house was built here. W7hile at Rockville he was a member mem-ber of the old martial band, J He is survived by his wife, Safari Saf-ari Ann Empey Stout, four children, child-ren, Gretchen Stratton of LaVer-kin, LaVer-kin, Martha Thompson of St. George, Allen Sout of Hurricane and David Stout of Salt Lake City. Also 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grand children; The speakers speak-ers at the funeral were, Henry W. Gubler, David Hisehi, Joseph E. Gubler, James Judd. Invocation by Wickley Gubler, benediction by j Stake President Claudine Hischi, music was furnished by the ward choir under the direction of La-Vema La-Vema Graff. The many flowers and the large attendance of friends testified to the high esteem in which he was held in the community com-munity and surrounding towns. Interment was in the LaVerkin cemetery. |
