Show SCHOOL BOARD MEETS The Washington County School board met in its regular monthly session at its office April 2 5. Members Mem-bers present were Leo A. Snow, D. A. McGregor, J. W. Imlay, B. C. Farnsworth and Elmer Taylor. It was decided that due to financial conditions and a division in the wishes of the people of Ivins, that a school would not be established ?.t that town the coming year. The children will continue to be transported trans-ported to Santa Clara. The tentative budget was adopted adopt-ed which carried another reduction reduc-tion in teachers' salaries. This will be a total of 20 per cent reduction re-duction over a period of two years. This is due to decreased revenue j and an increase in expenditures caused by increase of students and added responsibility assumed in educating the 11th and 12th grades grad-es at St. George. The church had carried part of this expense in past years. At its meeting the board voted appreciation and thanks for the work of its superintendent, Milton E. Moody, and reappointed him for a period of two years, beginning begin-ning July 1, 1933. Teachers' contracts were sent out and are due back on the 15th of this month. The next meeting at which a public hearing on the budget will be granted will be May 30. |
