Show COUNTY SCHOOLS TO CLOSLAPRIL 29 Problems of Finance Take Up Major Portion of Time at ISusinoss Mooting Monday Schools in the Washington county school district will close for this year on April 29, according accord-ing to the decision of the school board here Alonday. Those schools which have had days made up on Saturdays will close at the end of 155 school days. All members of the board were present at the meeting, although al-though some experienced some difficulty in getting here. Elmer Taylor was obliged to walk from New Harmony to the highway, and B. C. Farnsworth spent from 4 o'clock in the morning until 10:30 making the trip via Cedar City from Enterprise. Financial problems occupied most of the time of the meeting, meet-ing, and the possible condition of funds for next year and how the program should be modified to meet decreased revenue was considered carefully. Teacher load and teacher salaries also were analyzed. It was- reported at the meeting meet-ing that the Hurricane school building root was leaking very badly and lhe superintend.-!!! was authorized to investigate the cost of material for a new rout. |
