Show Tged veteran passes away Foneral services were held over the rer'.ains of Frederick Stock Monday at the home of his son. John A. Stock, this city, where he died Sept. 11, aged 77 years. T! c services were conducted by the West Ward Bishopric. The speakers were Elders Brigham Jarvis, Sr., Isaiah Cox and W. W. McArthur. Music was furnished by a ladies' .chorus under direction of Sister Nera-r.v.e Nera-r.v.e Pearce. and a vocal solo by Elder job Hall, who later dedicated the er.i e. Frederick Stock was born in England iexact spot unknown! in the year 1850. He crossed the ocean with his parents and a younger brother; his brother died while crossing and was buried at sea. His mother died and was buried a short time after they reached New-Orleans. New-Orleans. At the age of four, he and his father, Edward Stock, started west with an ox team, settled in Missouri and then moved on to Utah. When he was 19 years old he helped to haul rock for the building of the Salt Lake temple. He married Olive B. Locee of Spanish Fork and they made their home in the Gila Valley, Arizona, where he made shingles for about 20 years. He was a Latter-day Saint and died full of faith in the gospel. |
