Show MRS. JOHN E. PACE GALLED BY DEATH i i Passed Away at Home Here Wednesday Afternoon Following Follow-ing an Illness of Two Weeks -4 Mrs. John E. Pace passed away at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon from heart trouble at her home here. She had been ill the past two weeks but until Monday her condition was not serious. seri-ous. Her death came as a great shock to relatives and her many friends. Phoebe Ann Covington was born November 21, 1357 at Big Cottonwood, a daughter of Robert D. and Nancy Roberts Covington. She came with her parents and other pioneers to Washington Wash-ington when she was one year of age and lived there until her marriage to John E. i Pace. They were married on January 11, 1877, the opening day of the St. George temple; 12 children were born to them 11 of whom survive. They are: Robert J. Los Angeles; Andrew G., Vallejo, Calif.; Sidney W., Alamo; Frank O, Caliente; Wim B., Richfield; John W., St. George; Mrs. Martha Dalley and Mrs. Amanda Peterson of Cedar City; Walter C, Mrs. J. I. Sanders San-ders and Miss LaPrele Pace of St. George. Besides her own family she raised seven other children by former mar-miages mar-miages of Mr. Pace. She loved them as her own and gave them the best care possible. They are: Mrs. Julia Lamlb, Cedar City; Carl I., Salt Lake; Mrs. Jessie Graham, Lovell, Wiyo., and Mrs. Lutie Lytle and John I. and I. w;. Pace of St. George. She has no living liv-ing brothers or sisters. She also is survived by thirty grandchildren grand-children and one great grandchild. Funeral arrangements are being delayed de-layed pending word fromj relatives, but services probably will be held Saturday. |
