Show It : - SCOUT NEWS Court of Honor meeting was held at the College building Saturday-night Saturday-night with B. Glen Smith Smith in charge. Second class badges were awarded to Grant Whitehead and Clark Foster of Troop 3, and to Arthur Vincent of Leeds. Community good turns for the month of May have been performed by the scout troops of St. George. They have distributed forestry leaflets leaf-lets for the Utah forestry department and have assisted the Dixie Alumni committee in preparaton for the annual banquet. Here is a typical individual good turn performed recently in St. George. It is seldom we learn of good turns such as these. A boy was sent for to assist a local gentleman with his wheelchair from his home to town. He was offered fifty cents for the job. The boy readily responded, re-sponded, did the work and was offered offer-ed the pay. The response was, "I am a scout; I do not take pay for a good turn." The scouts of St. George Troop One held their spring rally at the home of Archie D. Wallis, A. S. M. The boys enjoyed themselves and are starting the summer with the desire to always be at the head in scout activities. |
