Show WASHINGTON COUPLE CELEBRATE SIXTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY WASHINGTON,. UTAH, April 20 Mr. and Mrs. Peter Neilson, of .Washington celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary on Saturday, April 20, at their home here. One hundred and fifteen of their immediate family were served serv-ed at a dinner at their home. This was followed by a program and dance in the evening in the amusement hall. The program was given by their children and grandchildren. A ' brief history of the family was outlined as follows: Peter Neilson was born at Fort Ephraim, Utah, on December 1, 1S5 6. He came to Washington with his parents, who were called to help colonize this Dixie country. coun-try. Mrs. Anna Taylor Neilion was born in Salt Lake City, Utan, April 22, 1858. Her parents too were also called from Kaysville to colonize Dixie. Mr. and Mrs. Neilson were married at Washington on April 22, 1875. Later being sealed to each other in ths Ht. George Temple arter its completion. They are the parents of fourteen children, child-ren, seven boys and seven girls, all of who were present except one daughter who died several years ago and one son who could not be present. They also have sixty-four grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Tie children and their families that were present as follows: Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Ahlstrum and family, Mr. and M'rs. Earl White and family, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jolley and family, Mrs. LaPrele Bullock and family and Hyrum Neilson, a great-grandson, all of Los Angeles, California; Mr. and Mrs. Lon Ahlstrum and family, Mr. and Mrs. Israel Neilson Neil-son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dave C. Bullock and family, all of Cedar City; Mr. and Mrs. John T. Neilson and family of St. George; Mr. and Mrs. Willard Neilson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Neilson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Neilson and family and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Neilson, Jr., and family all of Washington. Washing-ton. Mrs. Neilson has been a very active church worker all her life, having served as president of the primary association for more than ten years, in the relief re-lief society for over forty-five years and done work in the temple tem-ple for nearly one hundred souls. |
