Show AUXILIARY OF CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HOLD ANNUAL ELECTION A meeting for the election of officers for the coming year was called Wednesday evening in the Lyceum, by Mrs. Vivian Woodbury, Wood-bury, president of the St. George Chamber of Commerce Auxiliary. Although there was only a small group present a very interesting in-teresting program was presented as follows: Two readings by Merylin Cox, daughter of Judge and Mrs. LeRoy Cox; a vocal solo, Mrs. C. M. Clark; Piano-logue, Piano-logue, "Hats," Miss Edith Harris, Har-ris, accompanied by Mrs. M,ae Pace; Vocal duet, "Into the Dawn With You," Mrs. Earl Cannon and Mrs. Pratt Miles. President Woodbury then gave a report of the year's activities which included the following: a membership drive which started after the first meeting of the year on April 6, 1934. The-results The-results of this drive were ninety-seven ninety-seven memberships.v The Auxiliary Aux-iliary was also called upon to either put over or help with the following projects: Memorial Day program, housing of students, stud-ents, housing for Civic clubs convention, con-vention, booth for Alumni Association Asso-ciation carnival, and the Legislature's Legisla-ture's banquet. They then sponsored spon-sored a picture show to help raise funds 'for the big projoct of the year, the signing of the streets, which project thev are still waiting for FERA labor OK on, before they can igo ahead. Assurance has been ' given that this project will be OKed in the near future. This loport was followed by election of the board of nine members for the following year, officers to be elected out of this committee: Helen Reichmann, chairman; Emma Crosby, Ann Pace, Effie Judd, Lydia Prince, Florence Beck, Edna Pack, Rose Andrus and Lucille Gates. |
