Show RACE HORSES HUM IN FOR 1NTERJEET Fourteen Southern Utah Racers Ra-cers Now in Local Stalls, Reservations for Eight More; Get Inquiries Daily 'Fourteen race horses from Cedar Ce-dar City, Central, New Harmony and Parowan stables are at the local race track in ' training for the annual mid-winter race meet to be held here on December 27 2S and 29. Several local horses are also working out and reservations reser-vations have been made with A. B. Andrus, . secretary, for stalls for two hjprses from Paris, Idaho, three from Richfield, and five from Payson. Inquiries from interested horse owners are coming in daily from Idaho, northern Utah and surrounding sur-rounding Utah communities. With present prospects, it is expected ex-pected that ah unsurpassed number num-ber of fast racers will be here for the opening day. Good response has been made by business men to the commit-' tee soliciting funds, and it is certain that the meet will be adequately ad-equately financed. Racing will be under practically practi-cally the same rules as have been in force in past meets. One thousand dollars in purses are offered. A crew of men and teams arc putting the track in condition and it should be in excellent shape. There are plenty of comfortable com-fortable stalls on the grounds and wild hay and oats can be supplied on short notice. |
