Show $7728 R. F. C. FUNDS NEEDED IN DECEMBER- Three. Hundred Fifty-two Families and 59 Single Persons Aided by First Apportionment of $6,000 A total ct 449 applications, classified by towns in the county as follows, have been received and up to November 25, have been acted upon by the Washington Wash-ington County R. F. C. relief convmittee: Central, 1; Enterprise, 64; Gunlock, 32; Hurricane, 43; La Verkin, 10; Leeds, 3; Rockville, 19; St. George, 148; Springdale, 10; Toquerville, 25; Virgin, 27; Washington, 47; Ivins, 4; Santa Clara, 6; New Harmony, 6; Diamond Dia-mond Valley, 1; Motoqua, 1, and Veyo, 1. Of this total, 3S were registered but not aided as in the opinion of the committee commit-tee their condition was not particularly par-ticularly serious. Expenditures listed by the committee com-mittee in a report to tire governor showed the following: Number of people given food, 329; clothing, 3S9; fuel, 23, and other relief, 7. Three thousand dollars were available at the beginning of the month, and another $3000 was received during the month, bringing; bring-ing; the total to $6000 Cash expenditures were: Food, $166.44; clothing, $1S2.85, and other, $3.85, to total j $363. Balance on hand at end of month, $5637. Disbursing orders or-ders issued but not paid, $4,-3S9.25. $4,-3S9.25. Balance available fo! itt-ther itt-ther relief, $1247.75. The total number of families aided during November was. 352, at a cost of $4245, or an aver-j aver-j age of $12.06 per family.- Fifty-nine Fifty-nine single persons were aided 'at a cost of $507, or an average of $S.59 per person. It is estimated by the county commissioners that additional aid for the month of December will be needed as follows: Now given relief, 351 families, famil-ies, 59 single persons. Increase of 10 per cent for the month, or 55 additional families and 6 single persons. Probable Depember load, 386 families and 6 5 single persons. With cold weather, additional relief will be necessary. According Accord-ing to the estimate, families will require $18 per month and single persons $12 per month. Thia will call for $6948 for the first group and $780 for the second,, a total of $7728. Less the balance of relief funds on hand, $1247.75 the total needed by the county is $6480.25. The commissioners declare this is a very conservative estimate, esti-mate, and that the committee has been conscientiously distributing distrib-uting the funds only to those In extreme need. |
