A FORWARD STEP The Washington County News appears this week in a new makeup. make-up. The attention of our readers is called to the slightly narrower columns, and also to the fict that the page is now sven" columns wide instead of six as formerly. The narrower columns, (one-sixth of an inch, to be exact), tend to improve the readability of the paper, pa-per, and with the one column increase in-crease to the page the paper has a better balance and we feel that it is a step forward and an improvement im-provement well worth while. The new style is one universally used by the metropolitan papers of the United States. Practically all the larger dailies and some small town dailies and a few weeklies are using the narrower columns, but so far as we are able to learn, the News is the third weekly in Utah to adopt this make up. It is the publisher's aim to improve im-prove the readability of the paper and every effort is being made Along that line with the adoption every new forward looking improvement. im-provement.
