Show WHO'S WHO? Some time ago the writer was told by the chairman of the city beautification commission that he had no say whatever as to the kind of trees to be planted in the streets in front of his property. That he must plant the kind that were designated designat-ed for the particular streets whether he liked it or not; that this was the opinion of I the city attorney, and the I streets and sidewalks belonged belong-ed to the city, and they could do as they pleased. Now comes a notice saying that unless the weeds are cleared from the same property, prop-erty, (held by the city attorney at-torney to belong to the city) the city will hire the work done and charge it against the abutting property. Anyone knows that weeds ! and trash should be cleared from the streets, and it will be, no matter who does it, ! but it seems the city sometimes some-times has a crude way of i ! presenting things. |
