Show SANTA CLARA Santa Clara, June 2. The young married women of this place met and organized a club to be known as the L. A. L. club. Mrs. Vivian Frei was chosen as president, Mrs. H. Valentine Valen-tine Hafen vice-president and Mrs. Lorin Reber secretary. The club has been entertained by Mrs. M. J. Gubler, Mrs. Loren Reber, Mrs. Joseph Ray, Mrs. Ernest Reber, Mrs. Leland Hafen and Mrs. Katie Webb. John Wittwer of St. Thomas, Nev., brought his daughters Fern and Fay back Monday. They had been down to see the great pageant. Mr. Wittwer Witt-wer left yesterday for Bunkerville accompanied ac-companied by his sister Josephine, where she will visit for a short time. Miss Hilda Wittwer, who has spent about a week at Minersville with her brother, Melvin, who has been teach- 1 ing school there the past winter,- re- ! turned home last Saturday. Mrs. Vina Bunker of Bunkerville, ' Nev., and her little son who has been operated on at the county hospital are here visiting with her brother, Wilford Knight. Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Taylor and baby from Salt Lake City spent the week end here. They were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Reber. Mrs. Ether Stucki and baby of Cedar City have spent the past two weeks here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Loren Leavitt. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Iverson of Washington were here yesterday visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Reber. Mrs. Josephine Bunker of St. George spent last Sunday here with her sister, Mrs. Theodore Graff. A large number of our young men and boys left yesterday for Rockville to work on the road. Maxwell, and Mrs. Arthur Hafen of St. George left last Sunday for Provo. |
