Show - TWO INDIAN BOYS DIE OF PNEUMONIA ON RESERVATION Two Indian boys, Jerry Bullets, Bul-lets, five years of age, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bullets and Dern Greyman, also five years of age, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Greyman, died last Friday morning morn-ing at the Shevwits Indian reservation, reser-vation, fourteen miles west of St. George. Their deaths were due to pneumonia which followed follow-ed whooping cough. These are the first deaths on the reservation in three years. The parents requested that the funeral be held by the St. George South Ward bishopric due to the fact that the South Ward Elders Quorum have been conducting Sunday school there for the past five months. The funeral was held Saturday Satur-day at 2:00 p. m. Bishop Harold Har-old S. Snow presided and the following selections were given. Vocal solo, Mrs. Ruth Miles; prayer, Arvel T. Webb; violin solo. Mrs. Ellis E. Everett; talks were made by Milton E. Moody, Harold Snow, and the following Indians: Foster Charles, Frank Mustache, Keeno Taboul, and Dave Cannon; violin solo, Mrs. Ellis E. Everett; vocal solo, Mrs. Ruth Miles; prayer Ellis E. Everett. Ev-erett. The grave was dedicated by Bishop (Snow. This is the first funeral that the Mormon church has held on the reservation. After the burial bur-ial the Indians observed their custom of mourning at the grave j from sundown til' sunup. |
