| Show j J s 's r k Y v r lab r tr s t a t s d dA r rs A Ar r ED CHANDLER is finishing school and entering officer training in the Army Transportation corp Ed is with his wife Terri and their sons Eddie 3 and Seth 1 Former resident graduates in November with bachelors The end of November has been extra busy for Ed Chandler son of Robert and Mary Chandler of Vernal Ed is graduating from Utah State University with a bachelors degree in history and with minors In education economics and ROTC reserve officer training He just finished student teaching at Box Elder High School in Brigham City I thought student teaching was great If they paid teachers more Id I'd probably stick with it said Ed Ed is leaving for Fort Eustis Va to take officer training After six months he will be stationed at Fort Campbell Ky He will be commissioned a second lieutenant In the Army I transportation corp Ed graduated from Uintah High School in 1973 then went on a mission to Indians for the church In June of 1976 he joined the Army signal corp working in the Berlin special security intelligence group Ed flew back to Utah and marri married d Terri Develin in the Salt Lake Temple Terns Terris parents Frank and Betty Detty Develin were formerly of Vernal and now live in Oklahoma Ed and Terri had a son Eddie on Feb I 1 1979 in West Berlin Ed got out of the service In January in 1980 and went to Logan to attend Utah State He said we had thought about going back into the Army but we weren't sure The next school year he decided to join the ROTC In 1981 the Chandlers had son Seth In Logan After the summer ROTC camp Ed picked five areas of specialization that the Army offErs You know your branch by winter quarter of your second year he said Ed recommended both Utah State Stale and its ROTC program For anyone interested in a good school or a military career its it's a good goodway goodway way to start out he said |
