Show r forest orest service ice 0 girder bridge aids ids hauling A new steel grider bridge has been built by the forest service in rock creek on the altonah alzonah ranger banger district of ashley national forest ran ger gene L kuhns announced recently it if Is located near miners gulch campground about four miles south from davies lodge the bridge was built this last fall all during and just after the hunting season the bridge has almost unlimited weight capacity tend and replaced art an old bridge that would not hold the weights anticipated it Is expected that many board feet of timber will be hauled over the bridge ann annually this timber will be cut from the rock bock creek area and is one of the multiple use found in the area the area is becoming increasingly popular for recreation use particularly fishing and hunt ing and also mining activity range and water projects are found in the area this bridge supplies hes an important link in the road net work to enable us to bet ter use ue the forest resources available ranger kuhns concluded |
