half a cen tury ago when dr earl douglass began a systematic search for fossils at the dinosaur quarry near J jensen ensen utah the report had reached the carnegie museum at pitts burgh pa that fossils had been found in the uintah da ba tin in 1893 dr douglass was sent from the museum to verify this report the area involved was the devils play ground between vernal and bonanza and dr douglass douglas spent much time exploring and photographing this region ranchers in the jensen vicinity told of bone outcrop ping that they had seen in the hills north of Jenseni Jen enand sand dr douglass base of operations was moved to that section of the basin there lie he uncovered the most complete and best preserved dinosaur fossils known to the world of enc e ills enthus enthusiastic
