L'TES TROUNCE TABIONA IN FIRST HOME GAME An extra smooth Ute ball team ran over the Tabiona Tigers last Friday evening in Uintah's gymnasium defeating them by fifty points. Final score: Uintah, 80, Tabiona, 30. The scrappy, but limited visitors fell behind nineteen points in the first quarter as the Utes rolled across the floor as though they were alone. Their opponents picked up just one basket and three fouls in that quarter while they sunk eleven field goals and one foul pitch. Coach Grant Moser pulled out three of his starting lineup in the first and the other two in the second quarter. Ronnie Abegglen and Terry Anderson looked particularly hot during the time they played. Valoy Eaton also playing a good game was allowed to stay in about two quarters in all, for twenty-three twenty-three points to keep his average up. Jerry Cutshaw was included in the starting lineup Friday evening and played a very nice game w hile he w as on the floor. He is a junior, has height and is one of the Utes' best hopes for next year. The substitutes showed up well in the second quarter. Dale Williams. .Art Lee, Gary Slaugh and Earl Gross sunk tw 0 baskets for four points, and Sterling Sterl-ing Kendall added a foul pitch to his two baskets for five points. All Utes scored during the night. Josie. the high scorer for Tabiona in past games, was held down completely and made only eight points. Ray Pace w as high scorer for the opponents with ten points.
