The play features Darrell Jones, i Kathy Tucker, and Donny Sawyer from Vernal and Kathy Dart, Stewart Mortenson, and Jill Eliss from Roosevelt. The play centers around Alan Baker, a 33 year old bachelor who has a two-platoon system of courting girls. He loves each girl he goes with as long as he is with her but when she is gone he loves the next girl he is with. That continues until he meets Connie who manages to break through his outer shell and put a dent in his heart. Alan's extended bachelorhood gets him into hot water with his father who thinks he is a bum because he is not married and has given him no grandchildren grand-children and because he works two days a week and takes five days off to enjoy various sports. He's also in hot water with his mother because his father blames her for Alan's actions; Peggy because he stood her up; Connie Con-nie because she wants to get married and be a housewife and not get more than a 35 cent taxi ride away from him; and with Buddy, his 21 year old brother, who moved in with him when he ran away from home. Alan's apartment apart-ment becomes the refuge for his brother when he runs away from his father's rule and for Mrs. Baker when she too leaves home. Sometimes it has the look of Grand Central Station. Alan Baker, whose black book holds the keys to his two-platoon system of girls, is being played by Darrell Jones.
