Show Man to face sentence on fraud count A 23-year-old Vernal man pleaded guilty guil-ty in 7th District Court Tuesday to fraudulently obtaining a controlled substance at a drug store early in November. Judge Richard C. Davidson ordered Russel Kier to appear for sentencing Feb. 8. Vernal police accused Kier of fraudulently obtaining a prescription of the drug Mepergan-Fortis from Skaggs Drug Center, 266 West Main. Kier was released on his own recognizance on that charge. He remains free on $106 bond following his earlier arrest for a misdemeanor misde-meanor charge. A similar charge involving another store was dismissed last week in 7th Circuit Cir-cuit Court. However, Circuit Judge Whitney D. Hammond continued a preliminary hearing for another similar charge involving the Smith's Food King pharmacy, 1080 West Highway 40. |
